2019 FFAC Offseason: The Premature Preview

After a couple years of talking about it, we finally plan early enough to set draft order from the Kentucky Derby. And here are the results (with Stefan getting the 5 spot per his choice for winning the consolation ladder):

WHAT. THE. FUNK.

A DQ, in the Kentucky Derby. Now, I don't know jack shit about horse racing but that was WILD. Fireball's horse led the entire way but fumbled at the finish line after making a football move, and was promptly disqualified from the race. So, here are your ACTUAL results:

That's right, as our Champ I referred to you by your given name, Fireball, but this bamboozle calls for the return of the nickname.  It's done. 

Fireball has been bumped to 12, but there were rumblings that he should have been DQ'd from the draft himself and have to auto-draft. But I am a merciful commissioner.  You get the last spot.  Everyone else gets bumped up a spot (except for Stefan because, again, he chose the 5 spot). So now, yours truly gets the #1 pick. No pressure, we still have 3 months to plan it out.

Adam & Ben, welcome to The League. Go thank Shiv and KO for falling flat last season, you've got quite some shoes to fill. Also, let that serve as a reminder to all that there's no mercy in FFAC League 1. This is not a game.

 Obviously this is SUPER early, so we won't go too far into the details, BUT please be aware that league entry fee has INCREASED to $125. $100 still goes into the payout pot, but $25 from each will go into 3 things: SoundCloud subscription for the podcast (in order to keep all the episodes up, I'm currently fronting this out of pocket), website fees (I'm upgrading us to beyond Blogger), AND best of all, A BRAND SPANKIN' NEW CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY. With previous league champions engraved and everything. Yup. Hell, if you move away from Chicago for whatever reason but remain in the league (Stefan), the league will ship it out to you until the following season. Hell yea.

Side note, because of that, if anyone cares to help me with the site, please let me know. Some of you engineers would be way faster at deciphering the Yahoo API than I am so we can do historical stats, live standings & stats we use from historical recaps (weekly high score, low score, blowout, best performer, etc).

This is just a taste, but FFAC is coming back better than ever. OH, and League 2 appears to already have some fierce competition so, don't get relegated, no guarantee you'll make it back the following year at this rate.
