FFAC Recap - Week 12: High Steaks (Yes, Steaks)

It was a cold, rainy December morning.

A Saturday, with strangers out and about, taking care of business, running their errands, walking their dogs. All the signs that would mask for normalcy, yet, upon closer inspection, a sense of urgency mixed with a dash of seasonal spirit.

In conjunction with gift giving and lights and trees and candles and hot drinks, comes a looming sense of excitement, or dread.

It's the final regular season week of Fantasy Football! Hope you're having a good Saturday, I know it's late, but, we needed to create some drama up in this. And by we, I mean I, I need to create drama. Get ya'll to read this ish. Steaks are high. Shout out Jay for catching it in an earlier recap this season. Still intentional.

Anywho, here's the podcast with Shelby for the week, she's really high on the entire state of Ohio lately.

RECAP

Oh my, Thursday night football has already happened and we're less than 24 hours away from football Sunday.

I'll keep this short because Week 13 is upon us and the scenarios are what matter now. Here are the results:

Danny (8-4) beat MJ (3-9)
Stefan (5-7) beat Ryan (6-6)
Jay (7-5) beat Nick (4-8)
Fireball (10-2) beat Jamie (6-6)
Shelby (6-6) beat Zach (8-4)
Shiv (5-7) beat KO (4-8)

So, it's down to 3 spots, between Jay, Ryan, Jamie, Shelby, and an outside shot still available to Stefan and Shiv (!).

PLAYOFF PICTURE

1. Fireball (1 seed and bye clinched)
2. Zach (8-4, Clinched)
3. Papa (8-4, Clinched)
4. Jay (7-5, 96%)
5. Ryan (6-6, 75%)
6. Jamie (6-6, 61%)

7. Shelby (6-6, 39%)
8. Stefan (5-7, 17%)
9. Shiv (5-7, 6%)

KO, Nick, MJ, there will be no championship glory for you 3 this season, meaning the reigning Champion in KO has fallen, and there WILL be a new champion crowned this season.

Because of the outside shots that Stefan and Shiv have along with record to Ryan, Jamie, and Shelby, Jay remains a 96% although, mostly safe.

Let me start off with head to head here, because, man this is intense.

Jay is 1-0 against Jamie, 1-1 against Ryan, and 0-1 against Shelby. Jay plays Jamie this week.

Ryan is 1-1 against both Jamie and Stefan, and 0-1 against Shiv. Ryan plays Fireball this week.

Jamie is 1-0 against Stefan, 1-1 against Ryan, and 0-1 to both Shelby and Jay. Jamie plays Jay this week.

Shelby is 1-0 against both Jamie and Jay, and 0-1 against Shiv. Shelby plays Danny this week.

Stefan is 1-0 against Shiv, 1-1 against both Jay and Ryan, and 0-1 against Jamie. Stefan plays Nick this week.

Shiv is 1-0 against both Jay and Ryan, and 1-1 against Shelby. Shiv plays MJ this week.

So here's what needs to go down for 4, 5, 6:

Jay gets in if:
A win, OR
A loss from Jamie, Ryan or Shelby (Jay owns tiebreaker against Jamie via Points For)

Ryan gets in if:
A win AND a loss from Jamie or Shelby OR
A loss from Jamie, Shelby, Stefan or Shiv that does NOT leave Ryan in the bottom 6 of Points For (currently 3rd by +180).

Jamie gets in if:
A win AND a loss from Shelby or Ryan OR
A loss from Stefan AND Ryan

Shelby gets in if:
A win AND a loss from Jay or Jamie OR
A loss from Jamie OR
A loss to Ryan that leaves him out of top 6 scorers AND places Shelby in top 6 scorers (near impossible)

Stefan gets in if:
A win AND a loss from Ryan that places Stefan ahead of Ryan in points for (also highly unlikely, the single loss to Jamie is killing Stefan most likely in the event of a tiebreaker, Jamie wins due to head to head).

Shiv gets in if:
A win AND a loss from Ryan and Shelby that also places him above both in Points For (due to Ryan and Shelby's records against competing teams, Points For becomes key, Shiv is -80 to Shelby and -280 to Ryan).

WOOF, what a mouthful. Someone check the math, I might be off a bit but, those are the scenarios. Truth be told, it really comes down to Shelby and Jamie here. The 0-1 record to Shelby is the killer here, and unless Jamie manages to put up, idk, 200 points AND Ryan has to put up less than 70 for that points for tiebreaker.

Still, crazier things have happened. OH and to KO, Nick, MJ (and most likely Shiv and Stefan), a 7th and 8th seed saves you from relegation next year. And one more time, THE RESULTS OF NEXT WEEKS PLAYOFF CONSOLATION MATCHES DETERMINE WHO WILL BE RELEGATED, so still pay attention next week, it's not over yet. If that's not clear enough, whomever loses in the Quarterfinal Matchup shown here (after this weeks standings, of course), will be relegated:

So, pay attention.
